Nowt happening.

Published by Fat Man under Progress Reports

Nothing to say much really. Weight down slightly, BP and pulse as normal as ever.

Gym… only an hour yesterday because one of the kids was sick but back to normal today. Otherwise… same old same old. :)

Only 4 weeks left come Saturday for the competition end. Can hardly wait. :)

Wrong way – go back!

Published by Fat Man under Progress Reports

The weight seems to be moving again… in the wrong direction! So far this weeks it’s gone up from 131.5 kilos to 133.0 kilos… and *that* ain’t right! :)

No idea what’s happening here… but it’s still lower than it was at the end of *last* week so is still moving in the right direction overall. No worries.

Again with the missed gym session!

Published by Fat Man under Progress Reports

I have a child home sick so no gym this morning. I might be able to manage an afternoon session when the other child goes ice-skating, but right now I’m home muttering to myself.

The weight is reasonable this morning at 132.6 kilos, tho not as low as yesterday… maybe because of the meal we had at a restaurant last night (’twas my birthday on Saturday so I had an excuse!). I don’t suppose I’ll be losing much sitting at home, so maybe… just maybe… *now* is the time to start using those gifts I had from the kids for my birthday??

Gifts? Yup. I had a set of barbells (1 and 2 kilos) from my youngest daughter and a piece of multi-purpose exercise equipment from the eldest which is also a ’stepper’.

Now I can torture myself at home as well as in the gym itself! Whoopee !! :)

I hope I *do* get to the gym this arvo… although I’m not struggling to win the competition any more so having a day off isn’t a disaster in itself, even after 1 day off my muscles tighten up badly… yet the doc is suggesting she has *two* days off school! Two days off would set back the fitness considerably!

Coming or going?

Published by Fat Man under Progress Reports

Can’t tell what I’m doing any more.

Yesterday the weight was at 134.4 kilos… today 131.5 kilos. No idea what’s happening. Maybe the scales are wrong… I’m not getting on and off every five minutes and this is the weight that was on them so it stays til tomorrow :)

Still, either way the pressure of the competition is off me now so who knows… maybe I just relaxed a bit.

No chance of me winning either way. There isn’t any chance of me catching up… *but* there are 8 weeks left til Xmas so if I manage to maintain the level of weight loss I’ll end up between 116 – 120 kilos which is far lower than I’ve been in as many years as I can remember. Certainly since we arrived in Oz all those years ago!

So… progress is being made and that counts.

Can’t beat that.

The leaderboard has just been updated. For some reason my scores weren’t updated (will have to look into that) but there *is* a guy who has lost 16.8% of his original weight of 121.4 kilos. Impressive stuff that!To equal him, by now I’d need to be down to 131.4 kilos already… and even after exercising hard today I’m still 133.4 kilos. Much as I hate to admit it, at my current rate of weight loss I really can’t see me catching up let alone overtaking.

There is no way I can currently see that I can lose more than 2 kilos a week… which would mean I’d only have caught up with his *current* recorded weight at the time of the next weigh-in. By which time of course he’d be further ahead!!

I really have *no* idea what I can do to ‘combat’ this. I’m already in the gym for three hours a day 6 days a week and I’m on a highly restricted diet. Not sure what else I can do… short of liposuction.

Now *there’s* a thought!! :D

The answer?

Published by Fat Man under Progress Reports

Maybe the reason I’m not losing as much as I could is because of incidents like the other night when I scarfed down too much chicken. Or maybe it’s the other recent nights I’ve eaten more than I needed, even if what I ate *was* well within the limits set by the diet! Maybe I’ve had extra protein… all of which is calories… but even so it isn’t enough to have affected the weight loss to any major degree.

Either way I can’t see me losing more than 1 – 2 kilos a week… and now I can’t see me winning either.

Bit disappointing really but still… in the end even us losers are winners because of all the weight we’ve lost.

And I’ve already lost a lot!! :D

This can’t be!!

Published by Fat Man under The Competition

Wandered into the gym this afternoon to at least do *some* exercise because of missing this mornings session. Was chatting to the receptionist who asked me why I’d not been weighed last week. After some confusion it turned out the trainer hadn’t informed the desk of my weight and measurements. No biggie I thought.

I told her my weight, she entered it… and I said I was glad she did since I was in the lead in the competition.

That’s when I learned I was now in fact *second*!! No idea who lots more weight or how… all I know is *I* have lost 14% or so whilst the unknown person has lost 16% or so.

So what you may ask. Well right now I’m hacking this as much as I can. I’m already spending 6 days a week in the gym… and on Monday and Friday I usually do *double* sessions.

I’m on a really low calorie diet and would find it hard to reduce it further. So it looks like unless this person slows their weight loss… or some other freak of nature occurs… I’m going to end up losing the competition after all!

Right now the leaderboard hasn’t been updated with the last results so I can’t work out where this person is exercising… or even their sex… but I’m watching it to see what’s happened when it finally *is* updated.

Thing is, right at the beginning I said the rules were bent in favour of the light… yes I can lose more weight in total… but someone smaller who has only a relatively few kilos to lose could easily lose a far greater proportion of their body weight than I can.

To say the least I’ll be interested in having a look at the stats!!

Why oh why.

Published by Fat Man under General, The Struggle

Yet again I ate too much! I have *no* idea why I do this but I need something to stop it… what that ’something’ is or could be I’m yet to find out.

Tonight I bought a cooked chicken because the kids are out at Tae-Kwon-Do and we will be leaving before 5:00 a.m. tomorrow so have to get to bed early The kids had mashed spuds and peas… I had a salad… each with ΒΌ chicken for protein.

However, after finishing off my salad, and feeling quite full… I then slowly picked at and finished off the remaining quarter even though I had to force it down!! Why??

This is the behaviour I need to discuss with the doctor and one of the reasons I still think I’m a prime candidate for stomach banding. The wife doesn’t support this perspective… but I really think for me it might be the best bet.

We’ll see.

No change.

Published by Fat Man under General

No change on the Leaderboard anyway. I was hoping that by now they’d have updated it to reflect my loss as registered last Saturday. We can but wait (this is a pun… wait… weight… geddit??).

Well ok I don’t know many diet jokes… it ain’t funny from this side of the screen!! :)

Bit of an issue here.

Published by Fat Man under General

I went in to the Specialist Centre yesterday to buy more meal replacements only to learn they’ve abandoned most of the ’shaje’ flavours I like most!

Seems there’s no more Cafe au Lait, no more Banana or Honeycomb or Strawberry… in fact all they sell now is Vanilla and Chocolate! I’m not sure what soup flavours are left, but I have a horrible feeling the Dutch Curry might have been a casualty.

As far as I can tell this is an ‘economic’ thing where the Centre is trying to cut costs by only selling the most popular flavours… err… surely those of us who live on this stuff actually *need* variety??

I couldn’t discuss it with the doctor because he wasn’t there… but I *will* bring it up when I do next see him. After all, it’s not as if I can go elsewhere to buy it. It’s sold through a specialist… or not at all.

Maybe I’ll write to the manufacturers and see what they say.
